Learning at Maple Dene & Moppet School
To be “Safe, Friendly, and Responsible” is the cornerstone of all expectations at Maple Dene and Moppet. Everyone benefits, becomes secure, and feels accepted in an atmosphere of respect and cooperation. In turn, children are eager and ready for meaningful responsibilities. Their self-esteem and confidence flourish as doors to learning open.
Maple Dene and Moppet School uses a hands-on approach to learning. Whether three or twelve years old, children are given time to explore the curiosities of life. Through the industrious interactions of work and play, they are drawn to their interests. Experimenting through trial and error, they search for answers. Encouraged to imagine possibilities, and to create from what has been inspired, they discover. This journey is adventurous and richly rewarding. Children come full circle to develop a deep, genuine love for learning, and ultimately, become independent and resourceful.
Maple Dene and Moppet School is an affiliate member of the Coalition of Essential Schools. The Coalition’s Ten Common Principles are an integral part of our philosophy.
